Rules Pertaining to HiWis

Here at MCh, we follow a philosophy that every HiWi is a new potential PhD student. Whenever a new HiWi starts their work at MCh, their supervisor needs to introduce them to all group members, so they know a new face is going to start appearing at MCh from then.

The following rules apply:

HiWi supervisors should let their students to know the following:

HiWis themselves are responsible for discussing and securing their continuous working contract within MCh. If HiWis want to prolong their contract, they need to do the following:

  • discuss with their corresponding supervisor if extension is possible and viable,
  • when agreed on extension, go directly to the MCh secretariat.

This has to take place no later than 2 months prior end of their current contract!

Among scientific tasks, HiWis are also expected to provide support to general MCh activities such as copying materials, exam support, moving or delivering stuff etc.
